As we commemorate the International Day of the Boy Child, I seize this opportunity to advocate for policies and principles that uplift and protect our boys. This day, dedicated to promoting the healthy development of boys into responsible men, underscores the urgent need to address their emotional, physical, and social needs.


In Anambra South, our boys face significant challenges, including misorientation that exposes them to drug addiction, criminality, and, increasingly, identity crises. These issues threaten their potential and our community's future. As your prospective senator, I am committed to championing initiatives that provide proper mentorship, quality education, and robust guidance to every boy in Anambra South. We must create an environment where our boys are empowered to overcome societal pressures and grow into men of integrity and purpose.


On this significant day, I call upon parents, guardians, and community leaders to rise as role models, exemplifying the values and character we wish to instill in our boys. Let us work together to ensure that every boy in Anambra South has access to opportunities that foster their development and steer them toward a positive future. Together, we can build a stronger, more vibrant Anambra South by nurturing our boys into responsible, confident, and compassionate men.

Nimo Community Protests Over Youth’s Death, Cites Traditional Ruler’s Alleged Role

The protesters claimed that the traditional ruler, Igwe Maximus Ike Oliobi, and two others, Anayo Mbanugo and Emeka Abada, alias Akuamia, were involved in Odibelu’s death. The demonstration was disrupted when security personnel reportedly used tear gas and, according to some accounts, live ammunition to disperse the crowd. The protesters stated that Odibelu was detained on April 25, 2025, and released on May 3. He died the following day.
