Hon. Jude Akpua Marks Two Years in Office, Commissions Solar-Powered Shops in Nimo

 


The Deputy Majority Leader of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Jude Akpua, representing Njikoka II Constituency, has commissioned 18 solar-powered shops at Nkwoye Orji, Egbengwu Nimo, under his "Community Choose Your Project Initiative." The initiative aims to address infrastructure decay and foster development within the constituency.


The commissioning ceremony, attended by All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) party faithful, community stakeholders, women, and youths, marked a significant milestone in the revitalization of the local economy.


 The Nkwo Oye Orji Market, dormant for over 35 years, has been revitalized through this project, providing a modern space for commerce and sustainable livelihoods.In his address, Hon. Anthony Atupulazi, APGA Ward IV Chairman, praised Dr. Akpua for his commitment to delivering democratic dividends to Nimo. 


“Today, we celebrate not just the opening of a physical structure but a milestone in empowerment, progress, and service. This market is a testament to purposeful leadership driven by a passion for the people. Hon. Jude Akpua has shown that leadership is about action, not titles. 


Through this project, he has created opportunities for commerce, economic growth, and community development,” Atupulazi stated.


In their remarks, the Mayor of Njikoka Local Government Area, Hon. Chinedu Ononiba; APGA Vice Chairman, Anambra Central, Chief Chinedu Okoye; APGA Chairman, Njikoka LGA, Pharm. Chinedu Anaekwe; and Ward IV Councillor, Hon. Igbamma Anayo, commended Dr. Akpua for his people-oriented programs and policies. 


They highlighted his efforts to alleviate the challenges faced by the less privileged and urged the community to support APGA in the upcoming November gubernatorial election as a show of gratitude. 


The leaders also reaffirmed the community’s unwavering support for the APGA-led government in Anambra State.


The event culminated with the induction of new members into APGA and the empowerment of 50 traders, each receiving a grant of N10,000 to bolster their businesses.
