Soludo Tasks Local Government Functionaries On Integrity, Quality Service Delivery In Councils

Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has charged local government functionaries to uphold the highest standards of integrity and ensure quality service delivery at the grassroots level.
The governor gave the directive during the opening ceremony of the three-day General Orientation and Management Program (GOMP), held at the International Convention Center in Awka.
The program, which featured cultural dance performances and a series of keynote lectures, was designed to build the capacity and enhance the effectiveness of key local government officials across the state.
In his address, Governor Soludo emphasized that the success of his administration’s development agenda is closely tied to the performance, accountability, and efficiency of local government personnel.
He urged participants to embrace transparency, discipline, and citizen-centered governance in all their activities.
Also speaking at the event, Dr. Ben Nwankwo, Chairman of the Organizing Committee and Program Director at TLA Summit Group, highlighted the strategic significance of the orientation program. Dr. Nwankwo, a three-time member of the National House of Assembly, said the initiative was tailored to equip local leaders with modern tools and practical strategies for effective governance.
In their separate remarks, several local government chairmen expressed strong support for the initiative. These included; Dr. Emma Nweke, Mayor of Oyi Local Government, Comrade Rome Ibekwe, Chairman, Anaocha Rtd Capt. Casmir Nwafor, Orumba North, Hon. Shedrack Azubuike, Orumba South, Hon. Van George Ezeogidi, Nnewi South, Prince Chinedu Okafor, Awka South, Barr. Chijioke Ozumba, Dunukofia respectively.
They unanimously declared their commitment to upholding integrity, ensuring efficient grassroots administration, and supporting the transformational vision of the Soludo-led government.
