The third day of the Ubah Nation Media Gosimkamfunanya tour led by Honourable Chuks Kamen offered an inspiring showcase of Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s transformative achievements in Anambra State, three years into his tenure. The tour, a detailed exploration of the governor’s developmental strides in company of select Anambra State Veteran journalists, spotlighted groundbreaking projects in Onitsha and Okpoko, earning resounding praise from residents, stakeholders, and prominent figures.

A key highlight was the reclamation of the Okpoko refuse dumpsite, once a notorious blight, now reimagined as a stunning water fountain. This bold transformation reflects Soludo’s vision of turning environmental liabilities into civic assets, leaving onlookers in awe of his ingenuity. The tour also celebrated over 100 kilometers of roads constructed in Onitsha, a monumental effort to address the city’s chronic infrastructure challenges.

A visit to the ultramodern market built for Onitsha’s roadside market women revealed the profound human impact of Soludo’s policies. Designed to relocate traders from precarious roadside conditions into a dignified, state-of-the-art facility, the market boasts modern amenities, including ultramodern toilet facilities and solar-powered lights. These features not only enhance functionality but also underscore the administration’s commitment to sustainability and comfort. The market women, visibly elated, showered prayers and blessings on the governor, invoking divine favor for his second-term bid. “Governor Soludo has given us a new lease on life,” one trader exclaimed. “May God grant him strength to continue this great work.”

The tour also included a stop at the business premises of High Chief Ogonna Olisa (Ohamadike), an APGA stakeholder from Oraukwu and owner of fleets of shops in Onitsha. High Chief Olisa expressed profound satisfaction with Soludo’s exploits, particularly in infrastructure and governance. “I no longer mind paying millions of naira in taxes,” he affirmed. “Now, I see my tax working for me and my society.” He called on Anambra residents to remain law-abiding and support the administration’s tax initiatives, aligning with Soludo’s ambitious drive to transform Anambra into a “Dubai-Taiwan”—a fusion of economic dynamism and urban excellence.

Adding a touch of celebrity flair to the tour was Nollywood sensation Uwaezuoke, whose presence amplified the narrative of change. Recalling his past struggles in Onitsha, Uwaezuoke shared a poignant memory of losing one of his prized cars to submersion caused by bad roads and waterlogging. “Onitsha was a nightmare then,” he said. “But Soludo has rewritten the story. This is now a model city with an ultramodern outlook.” His testimony highlighted the dramatic shift in Onitsha’s identity under Soludo’s leadership.

The Day 3 tour painted a compelling portrait of an administration determined to redefine Anambra’s future. From refuse dumps transformed into fountains to roads and markets equipped with ultramodern toilet facilities and solar lights, Governor Soludo’s three-year legacy is leaving an indelible mark. The protesters claimed that the traditional ruler, Igwe Maximus Ike Oliobi, and two others, Anayo Mbanugo and Emeka Abada, alias Akuamia, were involved in Odibelu’s death.
