Anambra State Police Command Strengthens Ties with Public Complaints Commission

 In a bid to enhance Police-Public relations, the Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Ikioye Orutugu, hosted senior officers of the Public Complaints Commission (PCC) at the Command Headquarters in Awka on July 31, 2025.


During the interactive session, CP Orutugu underscored the importance of collaboration between law enforcement and oversight bodies like the PCC to boost public confidence and improve service delivery. He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to accountability and professionalism in all interactions with citizens, emphasizing an open-door policy for addressing public concerns.


The delegation, led by Honorable Commissioner Mr. Emmanuel Muoka, expressed the PCC’s readiness to partner with the Police to ensure prompt and fair resolution of complaints. Muoka highlighted the Commission’s mandate to serve as a voice for the voiceless, ensuring justice is both delivered and visibly upheld.


The visit marks a significant step in fostering institutional collaboration, transparency, and effective complaint redress mechanisms to protect citizens’ rights. CP Orutugu assured the PCC and the people of Anambra State of the Command’s dedication to building inclusive, responsive policing structures that promote mutual trust, justice, and community safety.


This initiative reflects ongoing efforts by the Anambra State Police Command to deepen public engagement and uphold its commitment to professional policing.

In a decisive operation against human trafficking and medical malpractice, the Anambra State Government has dismantled a notorious baby factory syndicate masquerading as a hospital in Umunya, Oyi Local Government Area. The directive was given by the Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, fwc MNIPS PhD, in response to concerns over potential unrest.
