Hausa Community Endorses Gov. Soludo for Second Term, Seeks Stronger Partnership with Anambra Government

The Hausa community in Anambra State has pledged its support for the administration of Governor Chukwuma Soludo, endorsing him for a second term in office.


This endorsement came during a courtesy visit to the Commissioner for Industry, Mr. Christian Udechukwu, on Tuesday in Awka.


The meeting, held at the Ministry of Industry was a strategic engagement aimed at fostering unity, dialogue, and cooperation in the state.


Addressing the delegation, Commissioner Udechukwu welcomed the group and emphasized the Soludo administration’s inclusive approach to governance.


“We are one people with one voice. This meeting is an opportunity to stretch out the hand of partnership and encourage continued peaceful coexistence and mutual growth,” the commissioner said.


Leader of the Hausa Arewa of Sarikin, Hausa of Awka, Alhaji Garba Haruna, expressed appreciation to the government for the prevailing peace and security across the state.


He noted that such an environment has allowed their businesses to thrive and declared the community’s full support for Governor Soludo’s re-election bid.


“We are grateful for the governor’s leadership and the enabling environment created for our people.


"We proudly endorse Professor Soludo for a second tenure and appeal to the government to allocate more land for business expansion,” Alhaji Garuba said.


In her remarks, the president of the women’s wing of the Hausa community, Hajia Salamatu Isah, lauded the state’s efforts in street sanitation and urban cleanliness.


She, however, appealed for inclusion of non-indigenes in the ongoing sanitization drive.


“As the state works to remove street beggars and keep the environment clean, we plead that our people should not be left out. We are part of this state and support all efforts to make Anambra cleaner and healthier,” she said.


Also present during the visit were the leader of the Fulani cattle dealers and National Deputy Director General of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, Gidado Siddika, Sarki Hausa of Nnewi, Alhaji Sale Suleman, Sarki Hausa of Onitsha, Alhaji Iliyasu, and the Youth leader of the Hausa community in Awka, Alhaji Sanusi Garuba.


The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment from both parties to promote peace, inclusiveness, and socio-economic development in Anambra State.
