Anambra Media Community honours Late Senator Ubah with Candle Night

The media community in Anambra State in conjunction with friends and well wishers have concluded arrangements to hold a candlelight procession in honour of Sen Ifeanyi Ubah.

The procession according to Hon Kamen Chuks Ogbonna, Special Adviser to Sen Ifeanyi Ubah on Media and Strategic Communications and Dr Francis Okoye, Dirrector, Contact and Mobilization for the program, would hold at Emmaus House field, in Awka South LGA of the state.

The candlelight procession is in honour of Sen Ubah who while alive contributed significantly to the growth and practice of the media profession in Anambra State in particular and Nigeria in general.

The program which was billed to commence by 4.00pm on Saturday, November 16, would end by 8.00pm.

All the members of the media community as well as friends and well wishers of Sen Ubah are expected to put on black outfit during the procession.

Police-Led Joint Security Team in Aguata Rescues Kidnap Victim, Neutralizes Suspect in Fierce Gun Battle

  By O'star Eze  On the night of July 12, 2025, operatives of the Police-led Joint Security Force from the Forward Operating Base (FOB) Aguata successfully rescued a 26-year-old female kidnap victim and neutralized one armed suspect during a high-stakes operation in Amaokpala, Anambra State. According to a statement by SP Tochukwu Ikenga, Police Public Relations Officer for the Anambra State Police Command, the incident occurred during a routine night visibility patrol. The team encountered a group of armed hoodlums who opened fire upon sighting the operatives. The security forces responded tactically, engaging the criminals in a 40-minute gun duel. In a decisive operation against human trafficking and medical malpractice, the Anambra State Government has dismantled a notorious baby factory syndicate masquerading as a hospital in Umunya, Oyi Local Government Area. The illegal facility, operating under the name Mother and Child Hospital and Maternity, was located at No. 1 School Road, near Tansian University.  Acting on months of surveillance and intelligence gathering, the state government working in close collaboration with security agencies stormed the premises with officials of the Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra (OCHA Brigade) and arrested key members of the criminal network.
