ANAMBRA SOUTH SENATORIAL BYE ELECTION:LABOUR PARTY CELEBRATES DON AMAMGBO'S BIRTHDAY AS HE OBTAINS NOMINATION FORM





Barrister Chidi Donald Amamgbo has taken a significant step towards contesting the Senate bye-election for Anambra South Senatorial District by obtaining the Labour Party nomination forms.


Barrister Amamgbo who was accompanied by his wife ,was received at the national secretariate of the party by some members of the National working committee (NWC) of the party ably led by the Deputy National Chairman of the Labour Party, Chief Clement Ojukwu ( Gbazuagu Nnewi)


This move is driven by his commitment to harnessing his vast experience to usher in a new era of development in the zone .


As fate would have it, the day Amamgbo picked up the nomination forms coincided with his birthday, and the Labour Party seized the opportunity to celebrate this milestone with the Amamgbos in a brief cake cutting ceremony and prayed for more wins.


This gesture underscores the labour party's enthusiasm at Amamgbo's decision to identify with the ideology of the party and demonstrates it's confidence in his potential to bring about positive change in the senatorial district if elected.


Amamgbo's decision to run for the Senate seat is motivated by his desire to address the unique challenges facing Anambra South Senatorial District, which comprises seven local governments: Aguata, Ekwusigo, Ihiala, Nnewi North, Nnewi South, Orumba North, and Orumba South.


With his wealth of experience and the party's support, Amamgbo is well-positioned to make a meaningful impact in the district. His campaign is expected to focus on issues critical to the region's development, such as security ,infrastructural development, economic empowerment, and social welfare.

Anambra Police Arrest Man for Mother’s Murder, Foil Suicide Attempt in Ekwulobia

Ekwulobia, Anambra State – A 49-year-old man, Nnamdi Anyaji, was arrested by police in Ekwulobia on April 11, 2025, for the brutal murder of his 68-year-old mother, Mrs. Dorathy Anyaji. The incident, which occurred at their residence in Amudo Village, stemmed from a heated dispute over profits from a cassava business, with Nnamdi accusing his mother of dishonesty. Police recovered an axe at the scene, believed to be the murder weapon.
