Speaking at the event, Chief Anigbogu welcomed Chief Onunkwo and assured him of Aguata’s solid support. He emphasized the importance of backing a candidate with a proven track record, someone who will develop the zone rather than enrich himself. ‘Ebuka Onunkwo stands out; he has been living, working, and contributing to Anambra South politics since 2017’, Chief Anigbogu emphasised

Also speaking, Hon. Ngozi Ubah reassured Ndi Aguata, stressing that ‘Ebuka Onunkwo is the only true contender in this primary election; others are merely creating awareness, and APGA must remain focused, as we need a candidate who will fight to ensure our votes are cast, protected, and counted’.

In his address, Chief Onunkwo expressed gratitude to Ndi Aguata for their overwhelming support. He specially appreciated the two House of Assembly members and the other party faithful in attendance . ‘I have come again to tell you that if given the mandate, I will ensure Aguata and Anambra South get their fair share of democracy dividends’, he promised, continuing: ‘I know what our people need, and I am ready to deliver; I have been using my personal resources to develop my community and LGA. Now, I want to do even more for the entire Anambra South. I have the capacity, the zeal, and I am the real deal’.

Chief Onunkwo emphasized his financial independence, saying, ‘I am not owing anyone. My business is not running on government funds, and I have not borrowed a dime since I entered this race. I have what it takes to contest, win, and attain the bigger platform to serve the people’.

He also reaffirmed his support for Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, describing him as a leader with a transformative vision. ‘Governor Soludo has done great things in Anambra without borrowing a dime. I share his vision and am here to complement his efforts’.

Chief Onunkwo urged the people of Aguata to take charge of their political destiny. “Ask anyone making promises what they have done for Anambra South before now. Many of them don’t even live in Anambra. They only come to exploit and disappear.”

Responding, the people of Aguata assured Chief Onunkwo of their unwavering support, both for the APGA primaries and the general election, as speaker after speaker took their turns to eulogise Dr Onunkwo’s selflessness, pragmatism, and people-centeredness exhibited over the years.

Speaking during the event, Hon. Cy Okpara encouraged Onunkwo to push for Nigeria’s restructuring when elected. He reassured Ndi Aguata that, given Onunkwo’s antecedents, he would deliver on his campaign promises.

Also speaking, Chief Christian Okonkwo praised Chief Onunkwo for his words, speaking from the heart, as opposed to career politicians. ‘While listening to him, I see truth in his words. He is not here for personal gain’, Ezembanabo emphasised.

Chief Anigbogu (Orton Palace), in his speech reaffirmed Aguata’s full support, and also urged Chief Onunkwo to maintain a strong relationship with Aguata women, who play a crucial role in local politics.

The APGA party chairman, speaking on behalf of the party in Aguata, gave Onunkwo his blessing. He assured him that Aguata, as a unique LGA with divine favour, would stand by him till victory.

Chief Onunkwo's campaign has been gaining huge momentum, with many notable figures endorsing him.

His message of hope and open-door representation resonates deeply with the people, who are eager for a leader who truly understands their needs.
