Chief (Dr) Ebuka Onunkwo's campaign team, earlier today, visited Umunze, the Orumba South LGA headquarters, where they were given a grand reception at the country home of Hon. Sir Eric Eze, a political juggernaut and former APGA candidate for Orumba North and South federal constituency. The event was attended by over numerous stakeholders, leaders, and supporters of APGA, who welcomed Chief Onunkwo, the leading APGA senatorial aspirant for Anambra South senatorial district.


Speaking during the grand reception, Hon. Sir Eric Eze commended Chief Onunkwo's track records, describing him as the perfect candidate for the vacant seat in Anambra South Senatorial District. He pledged his full support, and assured everyone present of his dedication to ensuring Onunkwo's victory. 


Also speaking, the President-General of Umunze town union, Engr Ezekiel Iheazo, praised Onunkwo as ‘a humble leader with the ability to drive meaningful change’. Contributing, the Mayor of Orumba South, Hon. Shedrack Azubuike, declared Onunkwo as ‘the incoming senator’, predicting his victory at the primary, whist Hon. Chike Nwafor assured the delegation that Orumba South is fully in support of Chief Onunkwo, calling him a man who prioritises public welfare over personal gain.


In his speech, Chief (Dr) Ebuka Onunkwo thanked the people of Umunze and Orumba South for their overwhelming support. He promised to bring meaningful and impactful representation to the seven LGAs of Anambra South if elected, reiterating his pledge of ₦120 million in scholarships for Anambra South, if elected during APGA’s primary election, the draft of which he committed to raising prior to the main election. Additionally, he supported Hon. Chike Nwafor with an open cheque to boost his business as a Seahorse Lubricants distributor, Seahorse being his multibillion naira lubricant-manufacturing plant sited within Anambra South, through which he has created thousands of jobs and touched many lives in Anambra South and beyond. 


Dignitaries who attended the occasion include the Mayor of Orumba South LGA Hon Shedrack Azubuike, his deputy, Hon. Ngozi Obidike, former Deputy Chairman of Orumba South, Hon. Prince Chukwudi Ugochukwu, Secretary of Orumba South LGA, Hon. Chinedu Onyeachor, Umunze Ward 1 Chairman of APGA, Hon. Onyebuchi Nleleanya, and Senior Special Adviser to Governor Chukwuma Soludo on Political Mobilisation, Hon Jude Umunakwe. Others include Hon. Anambra Police Arrest Man for Mother’s Murder, Foil Suicide Attempt in Ekwulobia

Ekwulobia, Anambra State – A 49-year-old man, Nnamdi Anyaji, was arrested by police in Ekwulobia on April 11, 2025, for the brutal murder of his 68-year-old mother, Mrs. Dorathy Anyaji. The incident, which occurred at their residence in Amudo Village, stemmed from a heated dispute over profits from a cassava business, with Nnamdi accusing his mother of dishonesty. Paulinus Chukwuemeka Ezeokafor, inaugurated the new board of Nimo General Hospital in Njikoka Local Government Area, Anambra State, marking a pivotal step in revitalizing the healthcare facility. The ceremony, held at the hospital premises, included the handover of N35,730,817 to the board, representing the balance of a prior government donation plus accrued interest.
