The Anglican family of St. John the Divine Church, Oko, Orumba North Local Government, witnessed a momentous occasion yesterday, February 16, 2025, as Rev. Canon Izunna Chibueze Muoneke JP was installed and inducted as an Archdeacon.
Dr. Ebuka Onunkwo, the APGA frontrunner in the forthcoming Anambra South senatorial by-election, joined the celebration, offering prayers and felicitations to the newly inducted Archdeacon.
In his remarks, Dr. Onunkwo emphasized the significance of leadership in God's house, stressing that it demands a deep commitment to spiritual guidance, service, and faithfulness. He prayed for God's wisdom, strength, and grace upon Rev. Canon Muoneke JP as he embarks on his new role, encouraging him to lead with humility, dedication, and a heart for service to God and humanity.
In a demonstration of his commitment to supporting the church and its community, Dr. Onunkwo made a generous donation of 5 million naira to support the church's project. Additionally, he donated 1 million naira to the church choir in appreciation of their soul-lifting songs during the ministration service. This kind gesture was met with applause and gratitude from the congregation.
Dr. Onunkwo's presence at the event underscores his commitment to faith, community, and service – values that align with his vision for Anambra South. As he seeks to represent the district in the Senate, Dr. Onunkwo remains dedicated to empowering communities, promoting education, and driving sustainable development.

Present at the church service were His Lordship, Rt. Rev. Dr. Samuel Chukwudi Ezeofor, JP, Bishop of Anglican Diocese of Aguata, several archdeacons, the Anglican clergy, knights, a delegation from Ihembosi, where the newly installed archdeacon hails from, and delegations from Aguluezechukwu and Ogbaru, where Rev. Muoneke had served in the past, including several parishioners.
