Market Freedom Restored: Enugwu Agidi President General Intervenes
In a bold move to protect the rights of market women, President General of Enugwu Agidi, Hon. Ebuka Onuorah, has put an end to the harassment by traditionalists in the community market. The traditionalists, who have a shrine in the market, had been scaring away market women at certain times of the day, claiming they needed to protect the sacredness of their practice.
During his visit to the market on Thursday, February 27, 2025, Onuorah made it clear that the market women are free to stay and sell their wares until 11 pm or whenever they wish. He warned the traditionalists to respect the women's rights and stick to their own niche.
The market women were overjoyed and expressed their gratitude to the President General for his intervention. They praised him for being the first President General to take on the responsibility of paying the market's electricity bill since assuming office.
The women prayed for God's continued protection and guidance for Onuorah as he fights for the safety and wellbeing of the Enugwu Agidi community.
