Solution Vanguard Inaugurated to Champion Governor’s Re-election

In a vibrant display of grassroots political mobilization, the Solution Vanguard—a support group of local government workers and retirees—officially launched in Anambra State, pledging to secure a second term for Governor Chukwuma Soludo. The inauguration, held recently, brought together key political figures, active and retired local government employees, and members of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) to rally behind what they call the “Soludo Agenda.”


The event’s highpoints included the formal inauguration of the state group by Barrister Vin Ifeanyichukwu Ezeaka, Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission and convener of Soludo Vanguard, and the appointment of Hon. Azubuike Okoye, Commissioner 1 of the commission, as the National Coordinator. Okoye, in turn, swore in the state executive members, setting the stage for an ambitious campaign. The unveiling of car stickers bearing the group’s slogan—“Solution Vanguard: Solution is Here; Soludo for Second Tenure”—underscored their readiness to spread the governor’s message to every corner of Anambra.


Alex Obiogbolu, Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters and a former Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission, delivered a nostalgic yet forward-looking address. Calling the commission his “alma mater,” he recalled recruiting 3,615 workers against significant challenges during his tenure. He commended the commission’s progress and hailed the Vanguard’s formation as a strategic move to bolster Soludo’s re-election. “Over 70 percent of local government workers live in the communities,” Obiogbolu noted, underscoring their potential to sway rural voters.


Following Obiogbolu, Barrister Vin Ifeanyichukwu Ezeaka, Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission and convener of Soludo Vanguard, took the stage to formally inaugurate the group. His leadership in establishing the Vanguard reflects a commitment to mobilizing local government workers—both active and retired—as a driving force behind Soludo’s re-election bid, setting the tone for the group’s grassroots efforts.


At the heart of the event was Hon. Azubuike Okoye, the newly appointed National Coordinator, whose political credentials lent weight to the Vanguard’s mission. Tracing his journey from President General of Agulu—the largest community in Aniocha Local Government—to his time in the House of Assembly and as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the United Anambra Youths Association (U-AYA), Okoye recounted his role in Soludo’s initial rise. As state youth coordinator, he mobilized teams across all 21 local governments, preaching the “Solution gospel” that propelled Soludo to the governorship. Now, alongside Ezeaka, he has spearheaded the creation of Soludo Vanguard, a volunteer-driven effort to enlighten grassroots voters. Each worker, Okoye revealed, is tasked with mobilizing 20 voters—a grassroots strategy aimed at overwhelming electoral support.


In her acceptance speech as State Coordinator, Honourable Barrister Mrs. Antonia Tabansi Okoye expressed gratitude to the leadership for entrusting them with this role. She praised the organizing committee’s competence and urged them to sustain their momentum in delivering Soludo’s re-election. “Before now, local government workers were relegated to the background,” she remarked. “We are here to prove everyone wrong and redefine our status in the state, improving our bargaining power in the grand scheme of things.” She highlighted the initiative as a turning point for local government employees, long overlooked in the state’s political landscape.


The APGA State Secretary, Hon. Engr. Levi Obiaudo echoed this sentiment, describing Soludo Vanguard as “the real support group” poised to influence their circles and ensure a landslide victory. “Your efforts will be ably rewarded,” he assured the attendees, emphasizing the party’s confidence in the group’s grassroots reach.


The group’s formation reflects a broader narrative of transformation within the Local Government Service Commission and among its workers, both active and retired, who have made themselves available for Soludo’s cause. Their enthusiasm stems from what they describe as the governor’s commendable leadership, which they believe merits another term—and potentially a national stage thereafter.







As Solution Vanguard hits the ground running, their message is clear: “Solution is here.” With car stickers ready and a network of committed workers in place, the group aims to redefine the role of local government employees in Anambra’s political future, one voter at a time.

Anambra Police Arrest Man for Mother’s Murder, Foil Suicide Attempt in Ekwulobia
