Anambra CP Intensifies Community Engagement in Operation Udo Ga Chi—Zero Kidnapping

 In a bid to bolster security and eliminate kidnapping in Anambra State, Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, has embarked on a series of strategic visits to key stakeholders under the banner of Operation Udo Ga Chi—Zero Kidnapping. The initiative, intensified during the Easter period, aims to foster collaboration between the Anambra State Police Command, other security agencies, and community leaders to enhance safety across the state.


CP Orutugu, accompanied by senior officers, including Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, CC Joyce N. Alexander, DCP Ibrahim Ezekiel (Operations), DCP Mantu Chongs (Criminal Investigation Department), and DCP Ngozi Ezeabata (Finance and Administration), visited prominent figures such as Sir Emeka Offor and Chief Vincent Udobi in Ukpo. The delegation also patrolled Ihiala, assessing security deployments and stopping by Obijackson’s residence.


The visits are part of a broader strategy to leverage community engagement, resources, and intelligence to improve security operations. By building stronger relationships with stakeholders, the Police Command seeks to better understand community needs and address localized security concerns effectively.


SP Tochukwu Ikenga, Police Public Relations Officer, emphasized that the Command is committed to engaging more stakeholders and ensuring inclusive collaboration to serve all residents. The initiative reflects the Police Command’s proactive approach to creating a safer Anambra through community-driven security efforts.


Further stakeholder engagements are planned as Operation Udo Ga Chi continues to gain momentum in the state.

Anambra Police Arrest Man for Mother’s Murder, Foil Suicide Attempt in Ekwulobia

Ekwulobia, Anambra State – A 49-year-old man, Nnamdi Anyaji, was arrested by police in Ekwulobia on April 11, 2025, for the brutal murder of his 68-year-old mother, Mrs. Dorathy Anyaji. The incident, which occurred at their residence in Amudo Village, stemmed from a heated dispute over profits from a cassava business, with Nnamdi accusing his mother of dishonesty. Police recovered an axe at the scene, believed to be the murder weapon. Paulinus Chukwuemeka Ezeokafor, inaugurated the new board of Nimo General Hospital in Njikoka Local Government Area, Anambra State, marking a pivotal step in revitalizing the healthcare facility.
