Anambra Police Secure Scene After Armed Attack on Vigilante Office in Amesi, Aguata



Awka, April 26, 2025 – Anambra State Police have taken control of the scene following a brazen attack by armed hoodlums on the vigilante office in Amesi, Aguata Local Government Area, late on April 25, 2025. The assault resulted in the destruction of four patrol vehicles and two motorcycles, which were set ablaze during a fierce gun battle as security operatives repelled the attackers, preventing them from breaching the facility.


According to SP Tochukwu Ikenga, Police Public Relations Officer for the Anambra State Police Command, no lives were lost in the incident. The Joint Security Force has since intensified offensive operations in the area, restoring calm. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation, with further updates to be provided as developments unfold.


The Anambra State Police Command reassured residents of their commitment to maintaining security and urged the public to remain vigilant while cooperating with ongoing efforts to apprehend the perpetrators.
