Enugwu-Agidi Celebrates Grand Commissioning of City Gate



 A historic milestone was achieved in Enugwu-Agidi as the community proudly unveiled its newly constructed City Gate, a symbol of unity, progress, and cultural pride. The commissioning ceremony, held on Thursday, April 24, 2025 was graced by the Chief Protocol and Deputy Chief of Staff to the Anambra State Governor, Mr Ugochukwu Obiefuna alongside the highly esteemed President General of the Enugwu-Agidi Brotherly Union (EBU), Hon. Chukwuebuka David Onuorah.


The magnificent City Gate, a testament to the community's commitment to development, was built by the Ebubedike Age Grade, of which Hon. Chukwuebuka David Onuorah is a proud and active member. The structure stands as a beacon of Enugwu-Agidi’s rich heritage and its forward-looking vision, welcoming visitors and residents alike.


The commissioning event was marked by vibrant celebrations, with cultural performances, speeches, and expressions of gratitude to all who contributed to the project. The Chief Protocol and Deputy Chief of Staff commended the Ebubedike Age Grade for their dedication and highlighted the City Gate as an example of grassroots initiatives aligning with the state’s development goals. “This City Gate is not just a physical structure; it represents the spirit of Enugwu-Agidi—resilient, united, and progressive,” he remarked.


Hon. Chukwuebuka David Onuorah, widely regarded as one of the most performing President Generals in the community’s history, expressed his pride in the collective effort. “The Ebubedike Age Grade has shown what is possible when we work together. This City Gate will stand as a legacy for generations,” he stated. His leadership and active participation in the age grade were lauded by attendees, who praised his vision for driving transformative projects in Enugwu-Agidi.


The City Gate project, fully funded and executed by the Ebubedike Age Grade, underscores the power of community-driven development. It is expected to enhance the aesthetic appeal of Enugwu-Agidi, boost local pride, and serve as a landmark for the town’s growing prominence in Anambra State.


Residents and dignitaries alike hailed the event as a significant step toward positioning Enugwu-Agidi as a model community. As the City Gate now stands tall, it embodies the collective aspirations of a people determined to shape a brighter future.
