Head of Service, Barr. Igwegbe, Tasks Anambra Civil Servants on Good Working Ethics And Professional Conduct

The Anambra State Head of Service, Barr. Theodora Igwegbe (MNI), has called upon civil servants in the state to uphold high standards of working ethics and professional conduct. 


Speaking in her office at the Jerome Udoji Secretariat in Awka, Barr. Igwegbe emphasized the critical role that civil servants play in the effective delivery of services to the public.


She pointed out that maintaining a culture of integrity, transparency, and accountability is essential for fostering public trust in governmental institutions. “The way we conduct our work reflects not only on ourselves but also on the entire administration. We must strive to be exemplary in our duties, serving the people of Anambra with dedication and commitment,” she stated.


In alignment with the vision of Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo's administration, the Head of Service highlighted the importance of professionalism in ensuring that the goals and objectives of the government are met. She reiterated that civil servants must embrace continuous improvement and exhibit a proactive approach to solving the challenges faced by the state.


Barr. Igwegbe urged all civil servants to engage in professional development opportunities, emphasizing that skill enhancement is vital for personal and collective growth. “We must be equipped to meet the demands of our roles effectively. Continuous learning is key to staying relevant and competent in our various fields,” she added.

Barr. Igwegbe further expressed her optimism that, with a renewed commitment to good working ethics and professional conduct, Anambra’s civil service can significantly contribute to the progress and development of the state, ultimately enhancing the lives of its citizens.

Anambra Police Arrest Man for Mother’s Murder, Foil Suicide Attempt in Ekwulobia

Ekwulobia, Anambra State – A 49-year-old man, Nnamdi Anyaji, was arrested by police in Ekwulobia on April 11, 2025, for the brutal murder of his 68-year-old mother, Mrs. Dorathy Anyaji. The incident, which occurred at their residence in Amudo Village, stemmed from a heated dispute over profits from a cassava business, with Nnamdi accusing his mother of dishonesty. Police recovered an axe at the scene, believed to be the murder weapon. Paulinus Chukwuemeka Ezeokafor, inaugurated the new board of Nimo General Hospital in Njikoka Local Government Area, Anambra State, marking a pivotal step in revitalizing the healthcare facility. The ceremony, held at the hospital premises, included the handover of N35,730,817 to the board, representing the balance of a prior government donation plus accrued interest.
