SID Boss, Okoli Task Anambra Youths On Maximizing Free Digital Skills And Technology Opportunities

The Special Adviser to Governor Soludo on Innovation and Business Incubation, Ms. Chinwe Okoli, has called on Anambra youths to take full advantage of the free digital skills and technology opportunities available to them. 


She made this appeal during a recent courtesy visit by the executives of the Amichi Development Union (ADU) at the SID Centre in Awka.


During the visit, Lady Okoli emphasized the importance of digital skills in today’s economy, highlighting that knowledge in technology can significantly enhance the employability and entrepreneurial abilities of young people. 


She expressed her belief that equipping youths with these essential skills will empower them to compete effectively in a global job market and contribute positively to the economic development of the state.


The SID Boss maintained that the government is committed to providing resources and support aimed at fostering innovation and creativity among the youth. She encouraged the young people of Anambra to actively participate in the various training programs offered at the SID Centre, noting that these initiatives are designed to promote skill acquisition in areas such as coding, digital marketing, entrepreneurship, and other vital sectors.


Okoli further charged the youth to embrace the changing dynamics of the job market by upskilling themselves and leveraging technology for their personal and professional growth. She urged them to remain proactive in seeking out opportunities for learning and development, emphasizing that the future belongs to those who are adaptable and tech-savvy.


Ms. Chinwe Okoli's message was clear: the youth of Anambra have a unique opportunity to maximize the benefits of digital technology, and it is imperative that they seize these opportunities to build a brighter future for themselves and contribute to the overall progress of their communities and the state at large.

Anambra Police Arrest Man for Mother’s Murder, Foil Suicide Attempt in Ekwulobia

Ekwulobia, Anambra State – A 49-year-old man, Nnamdi Anyaji, was arrested by police in Ekwulobia on April 11, 2025, for the brutal murder of his 68-year-old mother, Mrs. Dorathy Anyaji. The incident, which occurred at their residence in Amudo Village, stemmed from a heated dispute over profits from a cassava business, with Nnamdi accusing his mother of dishonesty. Police recovered an axe at the scene, believed to be the murder weapon. Paulinus Chukwuemeka Ezeokafor, inaugurated the new board of Nimo General Hospital in Njikoka Local Government Area, Anambra State, marking a pivotal step in revitalizing the healthcare facility. The ceremony, held at the hospital premises, included the handover of N35,730,817 to the board, representing the balance of a prior government donation plus accrued interest. Bishop Ezeokafor reaffirmed the diocese’s commitment to restoring the hospital’s functionality for the benefit of the Nimo community.
