Anambra Police Bolster Security for 2025 Imoka Festival in Awka



The Anambra State Police Command has intensified security measures across Awka and its environs to ensure a safe and peaceful celebration of the 2025 Imoka Festival, which commenced today. Strategic deployments of police and other security operatives have been implemented, with heightened patrols and monitoring to safeguard festival attendees and the local community.


SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Anambra State Police Command, confirmed that operatives are maintaining a strong presence to guarantee a hitch-free event. "The Police remains vigilant and prepared to respond to any potential security threats, prioritizing the safety of festival attendees and the community," Ikenga stated.


The Imoka Festival, a significant cultural event in Anambra, draws large crowds annually, celebrating the region’s heritage. Authorities have assured residents and visitors of robust security arrangements to ensure the festivities proceed smoothly.
