IN EBUKA ONUNKWO, APGA'S QUEST FOR ANAMBRA SOUTH SENATORIAL DISTRICT IS A SURE BET



As we await the INEC's green light for the conduct of by-elections into the vacant seat of Anambra south senatorial district, one name continues to resonate across political party divides and within the various communities that comprise the senatorial district. That name is Chief Dr. Ebuka Onunkwo, a name that ignites joy and radiates promise of a better tomorrow in the minds of the people.


Chief Ebuka Onunkwo is a grassroot person who lives amongst his people, understands their plight, and have been standing as a rock of refuge for several youths and the elderly for over a decade. Nimo Community Protests Over Youth’s Death, Cites Traditional Ruler’s Alleged Role

The protesters claimed that the traditional ruler, Igwe Maximus Ike Oliobi, and two others, Anayo Mbanugo and Emeka Abada, alias Akuamia, were involved in Odibelu’s death. The demonstration was disrupted when security personnel reportedly used tear gas and, according to some accounts, live ammunition to disperse the crowd. The protesters stated that Odibelu was detained on April 25, 2025, and released on May 3. He died the following day.
