By O'star Eze

On June 3, 2025, operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Anambra State Police Command made a significant breakthrough in a kidnap and murder investigation, recovering a locally made Beretta pistol, eleven live cartridges, and two laptops in Oba, Idemili South Local Government Area. The operation was based on credible intelligence provided by a detained suspect, Ebuka Orizu, a 26-year-old male currently in custody.

According to SP Tochukwu Ikenga, Police Public Relations Officer for the Anambra State Police Command, Orizu is a member of a notorious criminal gang operating in Oraifite and surrounding areas. The recovered items are believed to be linked to the gang’s criminal activities. Efforts are now underway to apprehend other members of the syndicate who remain at large.

The Anambra State Police Command reiterated its commitment to public safety, stating that it will continue to work tirelessly to curb criminal activities across the state. Further updates on the case are expected as investigations progress.
