Soludo Ambassadors Conducts Free Medical Outreach For Awka Residents To Advocate For Healthy Living In Anambra

In a passionate drive to promote healthy living, Soludo Ambassadors has intensified its grassroots health campaign by organizing a free medical outreach for residents of Awka and its environs.

The deliberate health mission, envisioned by the National Convener of Soludo Ambassadors and Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Awka Capital Territory Development Authority (ACTDA), Dr. Ossy Onuko and the National Coordinator of the Support Group, Chief Nwachukwu Obiora was held in partnership with Danxpert Medical Laboratory.

The health outreach included screenings for blood pressure, blood sugar levels, HIV status, Hepatitis, and other vital health indicators.

Speaking to newsmen during the outreach, which took place at the Solution Arena Park near Aroma Junction in Awka, the co-organizer and Medical Laboratory Scientist, Mr. Daniel Chukwuemeka Okafor, commended the facilitators and participants for their dedication. He also praised Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo for prioritizing quality healthcare delivery alongside his ongoing infrastructural strides across the state.

Dr. Lucy Okafor, a resident doctor at Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital (NAUTH), also emphasized the importance of regular medical checkups as a proactive approach to maintaining good health and preventing chronic conditions.

Also speaking, the Solution Arena Park Manager, Mr. Cornelius Oraegbuna, hailed the outreach as timely and impactful. He called on the state government to sustain and extend such health interventions to rural communities, noting the significant financial relief it has brought, particularly to drivers and low-income earners.

On their part, the representative of the National Youth Network on HIV and AIDS, Ms. Vedoo Du Sai and that of Achieving Health Nigeria Initiative (AHNI), Ms. Chimezie Onyeka urged members of the public to get tested and know their status as a crucial step in tackling the rising prevalence of HIV in the state.

Beneficiaries of the outreach, including traders and passersby such as Ms. Emmanuella Edeh and Mr. Chubuike Jude, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the organizers. They described the initiative as a lifesaving gesture and urged continued public support for Governor Soludo’s administration in its mission to build a healthier, more prosperous Anambra State.
