NACCIMA Council Meeting returns to Anambra after 16 Years, ends on a high note with commendation for Soludo’s Economic reforms

A 2-day Council Meeting of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), has been successfully concluded in Awka.


It ended on Thursday, August 28 with stakeholders hailing Governor Charles Soludo for creating enabling environment that continues to attract investors and to boost confidence in the state’s economy.


Declaring the meeting open on Wednesday, the governor represented by his Deputy, Dr. Onyeka Ibezim welcomed the delegates and assured them of Anambra State’s readiness to partner with the Chamber in advancing trade, commerce and industrial development. 


He described the hosting of the Council as a sign of renewed collaboration between government and the private sector, noting that the state remains open to business with 'a heart of partnership.'


In his welcome address, the Chairman of Anambra Chamber of Commerce, Engr. Chidi Egemba described the hosting of the third quarter Council Meeting as a 'historic milestone', recalling that the last time NACCIMA held its meeting in the state was 16 years ago.


He credited Governor Soludo’s visionary leadership which has made Anambra livable and prosperous for the return of the chamber’s national meeting to the state.


Egemba highlighted the governor’s commitment to economic transformation, youth empowerment, digital innovation, and industrial growth, and stressed that the reforms have continued to build investor's confidence and inspiring the private sector to partner with his administration.


The National President, NACCIMA, Dr. Jani Ibrahim, who was presiding over his first Council Meeting since assuming office, expressed appreciation to the state government and the people of Anambra for their hospitality.


He commended the enabling environment created by the government, and urged other states to borrow a leaf from Anambra’s model of inclusive governance and economic reforms.


As a mark of appreciation, the Church amber presented gifts to Governor Soludo and members of his Executive council in attendance for the recognition of their support for trade and economic development.


The 2-day meeting featured deliberations on trade, industry, and investment opportunities with resolutions adopted to strengthen collaboration between government and the private sector, improve ease of doing business across Nigeria and expand opportunities for youth and women entrepreneurs.


The Meeting ended in a note of optimism, with delegates expressing confidence that the outcome would contribute significantly to repositioning Anambra and Nigeria as major hubs of commerce and industry.


Dignitaries in attendance include, the Commissioner for Industry, Mr. Christian Udechukwu, Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Mr. Don Onyenji, Commissioner for Agriculture as well as business captains and members of chambers of commerce from across the Federation.
