The Catholic community in Ekwulobia rejoiced on Sunday as Immaculate Heart Parish, under the ULA Ekwulobia Diocese, celebrated the dedication of its newly constructed church in a vibrant ceremony.
Hon. Afam Ezenwafor, widely known as Ebubedike Global and leader of the Afamation Movement Worldwide, presided as chairman, delivering a heartfelt address that resonated with the gathered faithful, dignitaries, and guests.
Expressing gratitude to His Eminence Peter Cardinal Ebere Okpalaeke, Catholic Bishop of Ekwulobia Diocese, Hon. Ezenwafor praised the bishop’s steadfast leadership and pivotal role in realizing the new church. “His Eminence has been a fatherly beacon, guiding this project to fruition,” he said, setting a reflective tone for the occasion.
In a stirring message, Hon. Ezenwafor emphasized love as the cornerstone of service to God and humanity. “Through love, we manifest God’s image in our lives,” he declared, urging the congregation to uphold this virtue in their daily actions. He further called for renewed commitment to nurturing family and church, describing them as the bedrock of a thriving society. “The devil seeks to unravel our communities by attacking these sacred institutions,” he cautioned. “We must protect them with faith, unity, and vigilance.”
Welcoming attendees to what he described as an “epochal celebration,” Hon. Ezenwafor highlighted the event’s significance as a testament to communal dedication and spiritual renewal. The new church stands as a symbol of hope for the diocese, bolstered by the Afamation Movement’s support.
Also in attendance at the church dedication were Igwe Emmanuel Onyeneke of Ekwulobia and the Mayor of Aguata LGA, Dr Chibueze Ofobuike.
The ceremony, marked by prayers, hymns, and shared joy, continues to unfold with anticipation for the bishop’s homily and the formal consecration of the sanctuary.
