Anambra Police Arrest Three Suspected Armed Robbers, Recover Stolen Tricycle in Isuaniocha

On September 21, 2025, at approximately 2:20 p.m., the Anambra State Police Command swiftly responded to a distress call reporting an armed robbery at Isuaniocha Bridge. A commercial tricycle operator was attacked by armed men who stole his yellow tricycle, registered as NZM 92 YH.


Operatives from the Special Anti-Cultism Squad were immediately deployed to the scene, where they rescued the victim and ensured he was rushed to a hospital for treatment. The victim is currently responding well to medical care.


Using technology-guided intelligence, the police traced the suspects to Awarasi Village, Uga, in Aguata Local Government Area. The operatives recovered the stolen tricycle and apprehended three suspects after a hot chase when the culprits attempted to flee. The arrested individuals were identified as Kosisochukwu Nweke, 26, Emmanuel Eze, 24, and Osondu Ifeanyi, 20.


According to SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Anambra State Police Command, efforts are ongoing to uncover additional leads related to the suspects’ criminal activities. The suspects will be charged to court upon the conclusion of the investigation.


The Anambra State Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of residents, urging the public to report any suspicious activities promptly.
