Anambra Govt Confirms Ebuka Onuorah’s Leadership, Busts Suspension Rumors

The Anambra State Government has officially confirmed Hon. Chukwuebuka David Onuorah as the authentic President General of the Enugwu-Agidi Brotherly Union, dismissing false reports of suspension circulating on social media. 


This assurance was made clear in a communiqué issued on November 26, 2025, by the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs. 


The statement came after a stakeholders’ meeting held at Government House, Awka.


The communiqué, signed by Honourable Commissioner TonyCollins Nwabunwanne, explicitly stated that Onuorah remains the substantive leader of the union. 


It was also copied to other key authorities including the police, security agencies, and the traditional ruler of Enugwu-Agidi, reinforcing the government’s position.


Fresh executive committee elections for the union have been scheduled for December 29, 2025. 

The government outlined strict modalities to ensure the elections are transparent, including secret ballots and village-based accreditation of voters.


Following the announcement, a visibly relieved Hon. Onuorah thanked Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo and the Commissioner for their support in upholding truth and justice. 

He criticized those behind the false suspension claims, describing them as perpetrators of forgery and falsehood.


Onuorah urged the Enugwu-Agidi community at home and abroad to ignore misleading rumors and prepare peacefully for the upcoming election. 


The government’s intervention has been widely praised, restoring order and confidence among residents.

Ambassador Chukwuebuka David Onuorah, has urged all sons and daughters of the town living in cities and overseas to return home this Christmas.
