Police Raid in Awka Leads to Arrest of Three Suspects, Recovery of Firearm

By O'star Eze In a significant step towards bolstering safety in the state capital, operatives of the Anambra State Police Command’s B Division conducted a successful raid on an uncompleted building in Iyiagu Estate, Awka, on April 29, 2025. Acting on credible intelligence, the early morning operation resulted in the arrest of three suspects and the recovery of a locally made revolver pistol along with substances suspected to be hard drugs. The arrested individuals, identified as Paulinus Nkuda, Nwankwo Emmanuel, and Nwadede Godspower, all male, claimed the seized firearm belonged to a notorious arms dealer known as Chukwuebuka, alias “Nwa Onitsha,” who remains at large. The case and suspects have been handed over to the Anti-Kidnapping/Rapid Response Unit for further investigation, with police intensifying efforts to apprehend Nwa Onitsha.
