Anambra Police Command Bolsters Security with New Eagles Eye Tower in Ekwulobia

 On September 9, 2025, the Anambra State Police Command took a significant step toward enhancing security in the region with the commissioning of the CP Orutugu’s Eagles Eye Tower at the Ekwulobia Division in Aguata Local Government Area. The initiative, led by Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, underscores the Command’s commitment to fortifying police divisions across the state to combat crime and improve service delivery.


During the commissioning ceremony, CP Orutugu emphasized the importance of a robust security architecture, describing the newly unveiled tower as a “fortress against the common enemies of the people.” He highlighted the collaborative efforts of community leaders, security stakeholders, and partner agencies in Aguata, praising their unwavering support for grassroots policing. “Security is a collective responsibility,” the CP stated, noting that the resilience of communities is significantly strengthened when stakeholders unite with the police in proactive measures.


The Eagles Eye Tower, constructed with the support of local stakeholders, is designed to enhance surveillance, enable early response to incidents, and promote visibility policing in the Ekwulobia Division. The facility is expected to deter criminal activities while boosting public confidence in the police’s ability to maintain safety and order. CP Orutugu described the tower as more than just infrastructure, calling it “a symbol of vigilance, courage, and partnership.”


Following the commissioning, CP Orutugu led a Joint Security Team on a thank-you visit to Chief Joseph Ebere Ezeokafor, CEO of Jezco Oil, to express appreciation for his significant contributions to security agencies, particularly the Anambra State Police Command. The visit underscored the importance of private-sector support in advancing security initiatives.


The event was attended by key figures, including representatives of the traditional ruler, the Local Government Chairman, Presidents General of various communities, and other security stakeholders in the area. 


Their presence highlighted the strong community backing for the project and the shared commitment to improving safety in Aguata.


SP Tochukwu Ikenga, Police Public Relations Officer for the Anambra State Police Command, reiterated the Command’s dedication to fostering partnerships that enhance security across the state. 


The commissioning of the Eagles Eye Tower marks a milestone in the Command’s ongoing efforts to create a safer Anambra for all residents.
