The arrest was made on November 11, 2025, in Umuezeiyi Village, Achina, Aguata Local Government Area, with the support of local community security groups. The suspect allegedly broke into a shop in the same village on October 29, 2025, armed with a locally made single-barrel gun and a small axe. Reports indicate he wore a red polo shirt fashioned into a face mask during the robbery. He reportedly abducted a 13-year-old girl, took her into a nearby bush, and forcibly had unlawful sexual relations with her. Additionally, he is accused of fleeing with ₦30,000 from the shop.During police interrogation, Umeugokwe voluntarily confessed to the crimes.
