Anambra Government reiterates conducting medical missions or outreaches without prior Ministry approval is prohibited

  By Chris Chikelue Anambra State Government has reminded Individuals and Corporate bodies in the state that conducting medical missions or outreaches without prior Ministry of Health approval is prohibited. This was contained in a circular from the State Ministry of Health made public on Thursday, June 5 and signed by the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Afam Obidike. The circular titled, 'Attention: General Public, Communities, NGOs Faith-Based Organizations, Public and Private Health Facility Owners among other stipulations stated: "The Ministry of Health under the visionary leadership of His Excellency, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR, and the Honourable Commissioner for Health, Dr. Obidike Afam Ben reminds all stakeholders that conducting medical missions or outreaches without prior Ministry approval is prohibited. Police-Led Joint Security Force Dismantles Criminal Camp in Anambra, Neutralizes Hoodlum

  By O'star Eze  In a decisive operation on June 5, 2025, a joint security task force, led by the Anambra State Police Command and comprising operatives from the Department of State Service, Nigerian Army, Navy, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, and Anambra State Vigilante, razed a criminal camp in Agulu-Ezechukwu, Aguata Local Government Area. The operation, which followed a seven-hour gun battle, resulted in the neutralization of one armed hoodlum and the recovery of multiple items, including suspected stolen vehicles and household goods. Anambra CP Condemns Attack on Vigilante Office in Umunze, Calls for Community Support to Apprehend Gunmen

  By O'star Eze  The Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, has strongly condemned a violent attack on vigilante operatives in Umunze Community, Orumba South Local Government Area, which occurred in the early hours of June 5, 2025. Suspected armed men stormed the vigilante office, setting five operational vehicles ablaze and causing significant damage to parts of the facility. During a fierce gun battle, one security operative sustained a fatal injury as the vigilantes attempted to repel the attackers. The Police-led Joint Security Force has since taken control of the scene and launched operations to track down the perpetrators. CP Orutugu urged community members to support the ongoing efforts by providing vital information to help bring those responsible to justice.
