By Chuka Nnabuife As Anambra State prepares for the 8th November gubernatorial election and the 16th August senatorial by-election in Anambra South, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has fully declared its support for its candidates—Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo for a second term, and Chief Emmanuel Nwachukwu for the Senate. On Saturday, 2 August, APGA stakeholders in Anambra South held a grand rally at Ekwulobia Township Stadium, Aguata Local Government Area, to officially endorse both candidates. The event drew a massive crowd and marked the conclusion of a trio of zonal rallies aimed at building momentum for Governor Soludo’s re-election bid. Anambra born Corps Member, Brown-Ofoeme Ebubechukwu Prosper (BY/24B/2451), has taken a bold step to restore dignity to public education in Bayelsa State by renovating four dilapidated classroom blocks at Community Primary School, Swali, in Yenagoa Local Government Area. The arrest took place in Zaria, Kaduna State, following credible intelligence received by the Ozubulu Police Division. According to a statement by SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the Police Public Relations Officer for Anambra State, operatives received information at noon on August 1, 2025, indicating that Chinagorom, linked to a kidnapping case reported on April 15, 2025, was spotted at PZ Park Road, Zaria. Acting promptly, a team of detectives from Ozubulu Division, with support from Kaduna State Police, successfully arrested the suspect at his hideout. Chinagorom is now in custody and is cooperating with ongoing investigations, the police said.   By O'star Eze   The Anambra State Police Command swiftly intervened to restore peace in Nri, Anaocha Local Government Area, following a political squabble that erupted during a campaign rally on Friday, August 1, 2025, at approximately 1:30 p.m.  The incident, which caused a brief disturbance, stemmed from the alleged removal of three campaign billboards belonging to one political party by supporters of another, escalating tensions in the area. A court bailiff, accompanied by police officers and workmen, descended on a residential and commercial property, forcibly removing belongings and leaving lives in disarray under a dreary, drizzling sky. The scene was one of despair as mattresses, furniture, and personal treasures were unceremoniously tossed onto the rain-soaked road. Children, their faces etched with confusion and fear, huddled in nearby shops, watching helplessly as their homes were dismantled.
